We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

About the team and the role:

An eBay company, TCGplayer is on a quest to be the most trusted trading card game (TCG) platform — connecting and empowering the hobby community. Founded by and for TCG enthusiasts, we operate a global marketplace, and create tools, technologies and solutions that help small businesses simply and profitably sell TCGs at scale.

As a Software Engineer III, you will be independently responsible for the entire development lifecycle of features including the design, implementation and deployment. Your team will be primarily responsible for enhancing the order management and fulfillment experience for our sellers. You will be uplifting legacy applications into a microservice based architecture using the latest and greatest technologies. You will work closely with other development teams to bring a cohesive and intuitive selling experience to our customers across TCGplayer’s suite of tools. If you’re an experienced and disciplined engineer, with a desire to make a difference in the way we build new tools, this might be the perfect opportunity!

What you will accomplish:

  • Enhance our order management capabilities as we expand internationally and into an omni-channel selling experience.

  • You will design, develop, ship and maintain high quality features that meet requirements with guidance from more experienced engineers.

  • You will participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, to improve the development experience of the team.

  • You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the platform.

  • You will stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the team and further develop your own skills.

What you will bring:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience, or relevant Master's Degree plus 2 years of relevant industry or academic experience, or 9 years of practical experience.

  • Fluency with C# and .net core

  • Knowledge of RDBMS technologies (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and basic understanding of NoSQL stores (Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch)

  • Familiarity with event/stream processing mechanisms, specifically Kafka, but also with AWS SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, or AzureBus

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and modern CI/CD frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience of strong verbal and written communication, leadership and collaboration skills

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$95,200 - $168,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
