HOW AN AZURE CLOUD ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Support HRSA by providing leadership and architectural direction to develop modernized, cloud-native products, outlining the required cloud architecture
  • Assist in the development of a technical roadmap
  • Establish and implement the architectural standards for cloud-native development, as well as policies and procedures for modernized applications
  • Define and implement requirements, define appropriate design patterns, best practices, and use innovative approaches with modern cloud strategies
  • Assess legacy applications for modernization opportunities
  • Modernize databases using managed cloud services
  • Recommend cloud security best practices
  • Define governance frameworks for access control, data protection, and compliance policies
  • Optimize application performance
  • Recommend cost optimization strategies
  • Design with application availability, reliability, and fault tolerance in mind
  • Work closely with developers, product teams, and business stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and technical modernization efforts


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
 

Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred, OR equivalent experience

Required Experience: 8+ years related experience in development and/or cloud infrastructure (Azure)


Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience in Office 365 Online, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Active Directory and other Microsoft platforms (e.g., MS SQL Server, MS SQL Service Integration Services, MS SQL Server Analysis Services)
  • Demonstrated experience modernizing applications and utilizing cloud-native solutions available from major Cloud Service Providers (CSPs)
  • Experience in software engineering and design architectures
  • Experience and understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
  • Experience with building and migrating software and IT services to align to strategic needs and goals
  • Experience conducting research for advanced technologies to determine how IT can support business needs leveraging software, hardware, or infrastructure
  • Experience with on-premises to cloud migrations or IT transformations
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
  • Experience with frameworks, including Microservices, to allow stable and timely delivery of functionality
  • Experience with Cloud computing and Hybrid Cloud platforms
  • Experience in DevOps and DevSecOps approaches
  • Experienced with process design and documentation methodologies, and design and production of quality deliverables, process and use case modeling, business case development
  • Experience identifying and applying industry tools, solutions, methods best practices, and emerging technologies


Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain public trust with HRSA

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
