Job Summary: The Senior Director of the RWDA Team will be responsible for leading and growing a dynamic team focused on transforming McKesson Compile's analytics-ready data sets into actionable intelligence for the biopharma industry. McKesson Compile utilizes a technology-first approach to transform messy and disparate datasets into clean, analytics-ready data for life sciences companies.

This role involves overseeing the development and execution of analytics projects, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, analytics solutions to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytics including reporting, descriptive statistics and data science/advanced analytics.  This individual will have demonstrated team leadership experience, with a proven track record of success in the biopharma sector. They will be responsible for strategically positioning the Real-World Data Analytics Team within the industry. They will also explore leveraging automation to enhance efficiency and identify opportunities to productize our solutions. Additionally, the candidate will use data science and advanced analytic techniques to evolve and grow our capabilities across the analytics spectrum, ensuring we deliver exceptional value to our life sciences customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision and Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the RWDA Team, aligning with the overall goals of McKesson Compile to grow our customer engagement, including positioning our analytics offerings alongside our data solutions
  • Provide leadership and innovation within the data analytics function to produce actionable intelligence for the biopharma industry, with a focus on brand teams and commercial applications
  • This role reports to the General Manager of McKesson Compile and will serve on the McKesson Compile Leadership Team. Their active participation in the larger vision and execution of the company is a must have.

Revenue Growth and Consultative Selling:

  • Engage in consultative selling to understand customer needs and provide tailored analytics solutions
  • Drive revenue growth by refining sales motions in concert with the data sales team

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration of data science and engineering capabilities
  • Work cross-functionally with the Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams

  • Oversee the development and execution of multiple ongoing data analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
  • Manage non-recurring projects with biopharma customers, leveraging advanced data analytics techniques
  • Achieve revenue targets and build capabilities to sell more advanced analytic projects
  • Clearly define and pursue sales targets, ensuring the achievement of revenue targets
  • Manage a team of ~10 employees across India and the US

Customer Engagement and Solutions:

  • Work closely with biopharma customers to understand their unique challenges and opportunities
  • Provide customized analytics solutions that enhance strategic decision-making processes and optimize operations
  • Grow the capabilities of the current team, moving from descriptive analytics and reporting into the full spectrum of data analytics including data science, automation and advanced analytics.

Innovation and Advanced Analytics:

  • Incorporate AI and advanced analytics techniques to enhance the team's capabilities
  • Use data science and advanced analytic techniques to evolve and grow capabilities

Thought Leadership and Differentiation:

  • Generate thought leadership content to showcase the value of RWDA's data and analytics capabilities
  • Publish insights and analyses to establish RWDA as a leader in the biopharma analytics space
  • Differentiate the RWDA Team's offerings from competitors, focusing in on the differentiators of McKesson Compile data

Automation and Productization:

  • Leverage automation to enhance efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Product team to explore opportunities to productize solutions and strategically position the RWDA Team within the industry
  • Engage in consultative selling to understand customer needs and provide tailored analytics solutions

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Data Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Decision Science, MBA and/or relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree at a minimum
  • Extensive experience in successful completion of data analytics projects for commercial biopharma applications
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects, such as patient journey, referral analytics, forecasting, market share projections, propensity scoring, patient identification between claims and EHR data,
  • Experience in consultative selling and achieving sales targets
  • Experience in generating thought leadership content and publications

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of data science, advanced analytics, and AI techniques
  • Proficiency in leveraging cloud computing environments to conduct analyses
  • Proficient in programming languages Python and SQL. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI are also highly desirable
  • Ability to construct/leverage data sets to analyze, inform, identify trends, and support stakeholder decision-making

  • Ability to drive revenue growth and achieve project targets
  • Strong leadership and innovation skills within the data analytics function
  • Experience in building and mentoring high-performing teams across geographies.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$186,300 - $310,500
