Purpose of the Role:
The SAP Asset Management/Plant Maintenance Functional Lead oversees the functional delivery of SAP solutions for asset management and plant maintenance processes. They are responsible for managing the implementation, configuration, and optimization of SAP PM modules to ensure business objectives are met. Acting as a liaison between the technical team and business users, the Functional Lead plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operations and continuous improvement in plant maintenance and asset lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Functional Solution Design:
- Design and deliver SAP PM solutions to meet business process requirements.
- Ensure alignment of SAP functionalities with asset management and maintenance strategies.
- Implementation and Configuration:
- Lead SAP PM module configuration, ensuring it meets business needs.
- Participate in system testing and validation to ensure quality delivery.
- Collaborate with technical teams for system integration and data migration.
- Business Process Analysis:
- Analyze existing maintenance workflows and processes to identify improvement areas.
- Recommend SAP-enabled best practices for enhanced operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with business users, project teams, and IT teams to gather requirements and provide solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for functional queries and issue resolution.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead a team of consultants and ensure successful delivery of functional aspects of SAP PM projects.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members.
- Training and Documentation:
- Develop user training materials and conduct workshops for business users and stakeholders.
- Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, business processes, and user guides.
- Support and Continuous Improvement:
- Provide post-implementation support and resolve user issues related to SAP PM functionalities.
- Drive system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Functional Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) functionalities.
- Understanding of asset management processes and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with integration between SAP PM and other modules like MM, SD, PP, and FI/CO.
- Business Process Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies, work orders, preventive maintenance, and spare parts management.
- Ability to align SAP solutions with operational requirements in asset-intensive industries.
- Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Analytical mindset to solve business process challenges using SAP PM functionalities.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for functional issues.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business users and technical teams.

- Experience in managing the functional aspects of SAP PM projects, including timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SAP certifications related to Plant Maintenance (preferred).
- Professional Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in SAP PM implementation and support roles.
- Experience in functional design, configuration, and testing within SAP PM.
- Proven experience working in asset-intensive industries such as mining, oil & gas, utilities, or manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP Fiori applications.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance and IoT integration (desirable).
- Tools and Technologies:
- Proficiency in SAP Solution Manager, reporting tools, and data migration methodologies.
