Job Description:
The Creative / Graphic Design Director will play a critical role in bringing the Nielsen brand and products to life. This role is responsible for executing the brand’s visual identity and developing creative strategies across digital marketing channels including email, paid media, website, and social. The ideal candidate will have experience distilling complex ideas, technologies and products into visually compelling narratives that drive engagement and performance with various audiences.
As the primary creative / design leader, we are looking for someone who can set the creative strategy and vision for projects, serve as a creative advisor to the digital and growth marketing team, as well as execute. This role will also be responsible for managing a production agency and creating a high performing relationship with effective feedback cycles to improve performance. Prior design experience is a must. Candidates must have advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), with a strong understanding of digital design principles, typography, and layout techniques that drive marketing engagement. Hands-on experience with tools such as Figma and Canva, along with knowledge of web design best practices is preferred. A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and demonstrate an ability to execute with agility.
ResponsibilitiesThis role will partner with marketers, writers and data analysts to develop creative assets to help drive or support product and data narratives across owned and paid marketing channelsDeliver creative concepts and digital assets to support integrated marketing campaigns including email, paid media, website, and social media posts that drive audience engagement and performance Manage development of creative executions across all channels that strongly resonate, while maintaining consistency for the Nielsen brand Conceptualize and design graphics, visualizations, and animations for websites and other interactive platformsManage relevant agencies and production partners to leverage emerging media technologies and creative approaches for a variety of marketing activationsGenerate compelling motion graphics and videos to guide client and prospect journeys and support marketing strategies to drive awareness, consideration and conversionDevelop design templates for employee enablement for social and direct email campaigns, as well as client presentations Collaborate with cross-functional teams across all work streams to deliver high-quality creative assets that align on business effortsOptimize production agency partner relationship to drive high performanceManage multiple projects and priorities from ideation to execution Develop strategies that engage, educate and bring the Nielsen brand and data to life for key target audiencesManage one direct report and create an environment of ongoing growth opportunities Qualifications5 - 7+ years of marketing programs experience, with a focus on owned and paid email and digital marketingExperience creating and executing design and creative concepts across all marketing channelsFamiliarity with UX landing pages, digital and social media best practices that will drive engagement and performanceExperience working across various styles and mediums including illustration, iconography and animation weaving them together into holistic solutionsExperience managing an external agency and direct reports Proven ability to manage multiple projects, programs and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentMotivated self-starter with ability/confidence to work independently, and as part of a teamExperience working with designers to develop compelling digital materials on time and on budgetHighly organized, great attention to detail and deadline drivenWorks well under tight deadlines, self-starter and self-managerHave a roll up your sleeves and get it done attitude – it is not enough to have great ideas, you must be able to get stuff done Ability to navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities with a structured approachBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceNielsen: Enabling your best to power a better media future. A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $66,000 - $225,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
