About The Role
As a Sales Engineer directly reporting to the Vice President, you will support DESMI’s sales network, including Regional Sales Managers, Distributors, Re-Sellers, Shipyards, OEMs, and End Users. Your responsibilities include managing RFQs, preparing quotations, securing contracts, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external customers. You’ll play a vital role in delivering technical expertise, conducting product demonstrations, and driving continuous improvement in the sales process. The position is remote in Canada.
You can expect up to 25% travel time (Domestic and International).
Key Responsibilities
Achieve sales objectives and financial targets, contributing to DESMI’s overall revenue and profitability goals.
Develop and deliver accurate, timely quotations for various sales channels.
Provide technical support and pre-sales product education to customers.
Actively prospect for new customers and market opportunities.
Coordinate and expedite rush orders, manage change orders, and oversee shipping data.
Deliver technical product presentations and represent DESMI at trade shows.
Monitor market trends, competitors, and new product opportunities to drive business growth.
Collaborate with management to set and meet sales goals, ensuring alignment with DESMI’s strategic objectives.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Essential Education, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience with a strong understanding of professional sales processes.
Bachelor’s degree in technical, business, or related fields (relevant work experience may be considered).
Knowledge of industrial rotating equipment, hydraulics, and electrical machinery.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills And Experience
Advanced degree in a related field.
Experience with positive displacement and centrifugal pumps and systems.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
