We are seeking a full-time Certified Coder II to join The Oregon Clinic located in NE Portland at our Central Administration. You will work with clinical, operational and technology teams who value their team and working together to help our patients get the best possible care.
The Coder is responsible for ensuring that all procedural and diagnostic codes used by TOC comply with all application rules, laws, and healthcare industry standards, as well as coding to maximize reimbursement within the legal and ethical constraints. Primary duties include assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes and modifiers to ensure accurate billing, reviewing coding as requested, providing information for insurance appeals, and other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate is certified and has a minimum of 2 years' coding experience. In addition, candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a team atmosphere.
Workdays will be Monday - Friday (8:00am-4:30pm PST).
Starting pay range, based on experience:$29.61-$40.06 per hour.
Medical, Vision, and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees. Candidates living outside the states of WA/OR will have benefits that are dependent on their state.
Qualifications
Business and computer courses at college level; an Associate's degree is preferred.
Current certification from (AAPC or AHIMA).
Minimum of two (2) years of Medical coding experience is strongly preferred. Experience in coding for Gastroenterology including pathology, endoscopy, and colonoscopy procedures, is a plus!
Prior Epic Experience is preferred.
Knowledge of overall healthcare payment systems and major payer types.
Knowledge of CPT procedure, ICD-10 coding and basic A/R management principles.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Strong commitment to patient care and privacy guidelines.
