Job Purpose
Acting as Carrier Sales Representative, facilitate the achievement of business goals through sales activities including: managing a freight portfolio from pick up to delivery, provide and negotiate freight rates, building carrier relationships, leverage knowledge of the business and industry to influence and impact decision-making processes.
Duties And Responsibilities
Provide and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers and the internal sales team as needed to ensure maximum profitability
Coordinate available customer freight with available motor carrier equipment
Consistently provide service and support to motor carriers in an effort to build the business relationship
Provide collaboration with the Customer Sales team to streamline processes
Manage performance expectations through carrier account metrics
Communicate with motor carriers to provide tracking updates on shipments and help to resolve issues
Verify all freight charges, confirm receipt of Bill of Lading, and resolve all payables discrepancy prior to final payment to motor carrier
Identify lanes and/or carriers to source capacity and add to your network on an ongoing basis
Be available outside the office for urgent issues requiring attention
Work assigned weekend shifts (1-2 max per quarter), primarily on a Saturday
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
2+ year of prior carrier sales experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Flexible; ability to change focus quickly to meet demands of market conditions and/or company needs
Able to multi-task and manage multiple software systems

Compensation
Compensation for this role will range between 49,000-55,000 + commission.
