Key Account Manager (Southeast US)

Summary:

Key Account Manager is an influential peer leader within the Sales Team. The role is responsible for business development and account management in our largest volume, most complex, and most influential strategic partners. This role will function as a train-the-trainer position, assisting colleagues in their assigned region. The Key Account Manager will collaborate with distributors and internal business partners to leverage relationships to expand market share and to drive business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales objectives (quota) both overall and for key growth products via demand generation within assigned key accounts.
  • Successfully launch new and defend legacy products across the largest accounts and key account partners.
  • Demonstrate high level of relevant technical knowledge, verbal fluency, and veterinary practice expertise and partner with technical services to mentor peers.
  • Build effective relationships with and service key accounts / personnel to ensure you maintain and grow relevance and access.
  • Develop and execute a Territory Business Plan / Resource Allocation per our expectations – effectively implementing the full complement of PRN resources and following up to maximize ROI.
  • Lead by example to meet or exceed field activity expectations including sales call activity and investment in medical education programs.
  • Develop and execute a call-cycle at the account level that delivers our reach / frequency expectations.
  • Establish best practices using CRM tools to enhance customer relationships and share with peers.
  • Lead through influence, serve as a mentor, and support training initiatives within the sales team, shepherding a high performing team environment.
  • All other tasks as requested or assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Pharmaceutical Sales, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of sales experience in animal health or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience calling on and managing large, complex key accounts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced experience using CRMs to drive sales.
  • Up to 90% travel

Territory: Southeast (Charlotte, Raleigh, Greenville, Athens, NE Atlanta)
