Job description

Job Title: Technical Solutions Consultant

Location: Australia (remote welcome, or work from our Sydney office if preferred)

Type: Full-Time

Salary: $110,000 + 11.5% superannuation  ($122,650 inc super)

About Payble:

Payble is the world's first payment experience platform for local government. With more than 150,000 users across dozens of councils in Australia and NZ, we're making a big difference already.

For our council customers, Payble means lower costs, improved cash flow, and much happier consumers. Our customers rave about us (they’ve all agreed to case studies), and our consumer users love us too (4.8/5 average rating).

We’re currently focused 100% on growth among local governments/councils.

The role:

As Technical Solutions Consultant in the Services Team, you will support the successful onboarding and deployment of Payble by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Customer Success. You will assist in managing technical and project management initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation while addressing challenges such as version compatibility, data quality, and testing.

Additionally, you will contribute to designing new features, maintaining technical documentation, and participating in product testing to ensure high-quality standards and alignment with customer needs. This role plays a key part in delivering a smooth implementation experience and supporting client success.

·      Be willing to collaborate as a key member of the implementation team, assisting with technical & project management initiatives

·      Consult with council around the project lifecycle of Payble – ensuring seamless implementation

·      Proficiency in writing SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse data from relational databases is a must

·      You’ll have a passion for problem solving & an aptitude for project management – serving multiple active implementations at any given time

·      Identify and resolve problems during implementation, which includes but is not limited to assessing version compatibility, data quality and testing

·      Work with the engineering, product and customer success teams to design new features.

·      Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles, which includes, but is not limited to, product & training documentation.

·      Participate in product testing, ensuring customer needs are met and the highest quality standards are maintained.

Across a typical day, you’d do things like:

Kick off the day by reviewing active implementation projects, checking in with councils and internal teams to ensure timelines are on track and any blockers—such as data quality issues or compatibility concerns—are being addressed.

Write and run SQL queries to analyse council data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and prepare data sets for integration into Payble’s systems.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to test new features, report bugs, and suggest improvements that enhance the client experience.

Document technical processes and contribute to knowledge base articles, ensuring internal and external stakeholders have clear guidance on implementation procedures and system functionality.

Assist the Services team with managing project lifecycles across multiple implementations, coordinating milestones, tracking progress, and ensuring successful deployment of Payble’s platform to meet client expectations.
