Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Client Accounting Manager to lead onboarding processes, manage client service delivery, and oversee accounting operations for assigned accounts. This role requires strong leadership, accounting expertise, and problem-solving skills to ensure a high level of service, efficiency, and accuracy across client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding and service plan implementation for new and existing client accounts.
  • Review and analyze client financial data, reports, and key deliverables.
  • Manage revenue recognition, journal entries, cash receipts, and related transactions.
  • Oversee bill pay processes, including invoice coding, approval workflows, and vendor payments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve urgent client accounting and finance-related issues promptly.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend and assist with system and workflow improvements.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely reconciliations.
  • Supervise payroll transactions, expense reports, and cost allocations for assigned clients.
  • Prepare and deliver financial statements including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Review and mentor junior accounting staff, providing regular feedback and guidance.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to identify errors, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all accounting deadlines and service level agreements are consistently met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with client-facing responsibilities.
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and deadlines.

  • Stable and high-speed internet connection.
  • Ability to work full-time during U.S. business hours (or align with client requirements).
  • Comfortable with video conferencing, project management, and collaboration tools.
