The Role

The GBP Specialist is responsible for optimizing and managing Google Business Profiles (GBP) to enhance local search visibility and online presence for our clients. This role involves executing well-defined strategies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for GBP optimization, maintaining and managing profiles, and ensuring regular and strategic posting on GBP to drive engagement and conversions.

Key Responsibilities

  • GBP Optimization:

Implement optimization strategies as per the provided Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maximize the visibility, accuracy, and performance of clients’ Google Business Profiles. This includes updating business information, managing categories, enhancing profiles with relevant images, and monitoring local SEO performance.

  • GBP Management:

Proactively manage multiple Google Business Profiles to ensure consistency, compliance with Google guidelines, and accuracy of the information. This includes responding to client queries and reviews, handling profile issues, and maintaining regular audits to prevent and fix any discrepancies or errors.

  • GBP Posting:

Develop and execute a content posting schedule for Google Business Profiles. Ensure timely and engaging posts that highlight promotions, events, and important updates for each business. Collaborate with the marketing team to align GBP content with overall brand messaging and goals.

  • Review Management:

Monitor and respond to customer reviews on Google Business Profiles in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that both positive and negative reviews are addressed appropriately, following the company’s tone and guidelines. Work with the client and internal teams to resolve any issues highlighted in reviews and improve overall customer satisfaction.

  • Citation Management

Create, monitor and manage citations. Including creating citations through YEXT, ensure/monitor NAP accuracy with website & GBP, and make any updates to citations as needed.

Ideal Profile

  • In-depth knowledge of Google Business Profile (GBP) tools and local SEO best practices.
  • Highly preferred: Agency experience with managing multiple Google Business Profiles.
  • Strong understanding of online reputation management and how it applies to local business profiles.
  • Ability to follow and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple profiles simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams.

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience managing Google Business Profiles or similar local SEO/online reputation management roles.
  • Proven experience in optimizing GBPs to improve local rankings and engagement.
  • Experience with GBP posting and content management.
