Job description

About Common Wealth

Common Wealth is Canada’s fastest-growing group retirement provider, offering an award-winning digital platform that helps Canadians plan, save, and build reliable retirement income. We are driven by our mission to help all Canadians achieve financial security in retirement. We collaborate closely with a growing network of advisors to deliver our retirement solutions. In 2024, we doubled our client base and now serve employers and members nationwide.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Client Services & Operations, the Senior Manager, Financial Planning will help build out an exciting new financial planning offering for our plan members. You will be reporting to our Head of Client Services & Operations and work with team members cross-functionally including Strategy & Business Operations, Marketing, Product, and more.

What you'll do:

  • Build a Financial Planning Function
  • As the founding member of the Member Success team, you’ll lead the creation of a new financial planning service for plan members. You’ll design and deliver the initial offering, then scale the function by hiring and managing a team of Financial Planners.
  • Empower Members Through Personalized Planning
  • You’ll work directly with members to create tailored financial plans, helping them gain clarity, confidence, and control over their path to retirement.
  • Deliver Scalable Financial Education
  • Beyond one-on-one support, you’ll design and lead educational initiatives— including webinars, blog posts, and other resources—to provide members with ongoing guidance on retirement and financial wellness.

Who you are:

  • An Experienced Financial Planner
  • You hold a CFP designation and have 5–10+ years of financial planning experience in Canada. You’re relationship-focused, confident working independently, and skilled at developing actionable plans across a broad range of member needs.
  • A Passionate Educator
  • You see financial planning as a journey, not just a set of numbers. You value education and integrity, and you’re excited to help members learn and grow— both individually and at scale.
  • An Entrepreneurial Builder
  • You’re energized by the challenge of building something new. You’re ready to develop a high-performing team and bring structure to a new function. You’re adaptable, humble, coachable, and thrive in ambiguity.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the group retirement or benefits industry
  • Fluency in French
  • AMF certification

Why work with us:

Common Wealth is a fast-growing company with a mission to change the lives of Canadians. You’ll be joining a dynamic and flexible work environment where you have the autonomy to shape your role. You’ll have ample opportunities to learn, grow, and advance within the organization while contributing to improving the Canadian retirement landscape.

Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary
  • Health and dental benefits
  • Health spending account
  • 5% employer match into one of our award-winning group retirement plans
  • 4 weeks of vacation
  • Brand new Macbook
  • Home office stipend
  • Learning & development budget

We are a respectful workplace committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce. We believe in fostering an inclusive work environment where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed. We welcome and encourage applications from everyone. We look forward to hearing from you!
