Role Overview

Bring structure and scalability to their finance operations. This role is pivotal in transitioning their financial function from fragmented systems to an integrated and efficient setup. You will lead the monthly close process, internal financial operations, and play a critical role in supporting audits, due diligence, and future growth initiatives.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will work closely with external accountants and collaborate across departments to drive financial accuracy and efficiency.

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Manage daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue bookings.
• Prepare monthly trial balances and group profit & loss (P&L) statements.
• Oversee and optimize revenue recognition, accruals, and deferred revenue tracking.
• Maintain the group chart of accounts and cost center structures.
• Coordinate with external accountants in Switzerland (CH), Belgium (BE), and the United Kingdom (UK) on VAT, payroll, and compliance matters.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly closings across all three legal entities.
  
  

Consolidation & Reporting

• Lead the monthly consolidation process and group-level financial reporting.
• Develop and maintain SaaS-style dashboards (e.g., MRR, ARR, churn, CAC) for internal stakeholders and investor reporting.
• Manage financial reporting tools such as Google Sheets, Fathom, Chargebee, and Odoo.
  
  

Systems & Process Improvement

• Drive improvements and automation within financial tools like Spendesk, Chargebee, and Xero.
• Support the implementation of a unified finance and invoicing system.
• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and optimize workflows for scalable finance operations.
  
  

Payroll Administration

• Maintain HR records, employment contracts, and onboarding/offboarding documentation.
• Coordinate payroll inputs and changes with providers in CH and BE.
  
  

Your Profile

• 4–8 years of experience in accounting or financial operations.
• Background in multi-entity or international environments, ideally within a startup, scale-up, or SaaS context.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Practical experience preparing trial balances, P&Ls, and managing revenue and expense bookings.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Highly organized, process-driven, and dependable.
• Comfortable collaborating across departments and managing external stakeholders.
• Fluent in English and Dutch; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
