Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to support the development of a Radio Direction Finding (RDF) system designed for Own-Force Monitoring within a large Department of Defense (DoD) program. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of radio frequency (RF) principles and the systems engineering process and proven success developing software solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment.

Your tasks


  • Assist in the design, development, and integration of software components for a Radio Direction Finding system, ensuring alignment with DoD standards and operational requirements for Own-Force Monitoring.
  • API development for software and hardware components
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to implement software solutions that meet system specifications and performance criteria.
  • Participate in the systems engineering process, including requirements definition, software architecture design, and verification and validation activities.
  • Support senior engineers in conducting technical analyses and evaluations of software performance and functionality related to RF systems.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including software design specifications, test plans, and reports, to support project milestones and deliverables.
  • Attend and participate in technical reviews and meetings, providing input and feedback as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to software development and RF systems.

Your Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • Agile SW development experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of radio frequency principles and systems engineering processes.
  • Proficiency with C#, C++, SQL, Java, Javascript, Golang, and Python
  • Familiar with latest industry development environments
  • Proficiency in relevant software development tools and methodologies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SysML (Cameo) is desired to support system modeling and design activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in system design and integration.
  • Must be U.S. person capable of receiving U.S. Gov’t security clearance

The total compensation for this position is $120K-$190K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job-related skills.
