Job Title: HR Business Partner (HRBP)

Job Summary

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic and hands-on role that partners with business leaders in our field operations and veterinary hospital teams. As a trusted advisor, the HRBP provides guidance and support in areas including compliance, employee relations, performance management, talent development, employee engagement, and retention. This role requires the ability to build relationships, consult and influence leaders, execute tactically, and collaborate effectively across teams and levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusted partnerships with business leaders through consultative and collaborative support on people initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee relations and performance management issues, ensuring proper documentation and recommending appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Lead and manage employee relations investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and recommending appropriate actions based on applicable laws, policies, and past practices. Consult with legal counsel as needed.
  • Interpret and apply policies, employment laws, and regulations to advise leaders, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance.
  • Partner with business leaders on employee and leadership development, performance management, job leveling, and organizational changes.
  • Guide leaders in creating and executing action plans based on employee engagement survey data to improve employee experience.
  • Collaborate with HR Support Partners to implement enterprise-wide programs and processes (e.g., performance management, talent reviews, leadership development, compensation, and job architecture).
  • Respond to general employee inquiries and direct them to appropriate HR resources as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience in employee relations, performance management, talent management, and employee engagement.
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills with a demonstrated ability to drive results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and addressing complex issues without established processes.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills to anticipate issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to travel is up to 25% based on business needs.

Compensation: The base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000-$90,000 with 5% annual bonus potential. Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
