Job description

The Sr. Product Designer will lead the design of Coinstar's financial services mobile/web app and kiosk interfaces. This role is responsible for creating intuitive, user-centered designs that enhance the experience of interacting with our products. In addition, the role will partner to prototype new products that will inform our roadmap and the future of our consumer centric organization. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, marketing, engineers, and leadership to ensure that both digital and physical touchpoints deliver seamless, accessible, and engaging user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design of the mobile/web app and kiosk interfaces, from ideation to final implementation, ensuring a cohesive and seamless user experience.
  • Work with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into user-centric design solutions.
  • Create detailed wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design concepts and interactions.
  • Partner with marketing and product to plan, execute, and analyze user research sessions (usability testing, interviews, surveys) to inform design decisions.
  • Own and evolve our design system to maintain consistency across mobile/web and kiosk interfaces.
  • Use feedback from user testing, analytics, and team discussions to iterate on designs and enhance usability and accessibility.
  • Communicate design rationale and decisions to stakeholders clearly and effectively, ensuring that user needs remain a priority throughout the development process.
  • Ensure seamless handoff of designs to engineering teams that meet appropriate accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate on the creation of FAQs, in app messaging and guides to ensure consumer comprehension and adoption of new features and function features.
  • Define and document user journeys across the consumer and employee experience.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years experience in graphic design or equivalent domain
  • 5+ years experience in customer facing product design
  • 3+ years experience in digital wallet, financial services or equivalent product design
  • Proven experience designing mobile/web applications (iOS/Android) and/or physical digital interfaces, such as kiosks.
  • A portfolio demonstrating your design process, user-centered solutions, and examples of mobile and/or kiosk-based work.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expertise in using Figma for wireframing, high-fidelity design, prototyping, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, methodologies, and best practices for designing mobile/web and physical interfaces.
  • Ability to gather insights through user interviews, usability testing, and analyzing user feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with product managers, engineers, and marketers.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring that designs are both aesthetically pleasing and functional across platforms.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices to ensure inclusive design solutions.
  • Ability to own and maintain a unified design system that ensures consistency across all products and touchpoints.

Location & Travel Expectations

  • Our corporate headquarters is in Bellevue, WA, but this position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S.
  • This position requires some business travel.

Pay And Benefits

The typical starting salary range for this position is between $133,801-$167,251 per year. Coinstar utilizes geographically based pay ranges, within the United States, which allows us to pay competitively and consistently based on location. Within the range for the applicable geographic area, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share the salary range specific to your location. Employees in this position have the potential to increase their base salary up to $200,702 per year, which is the max end of the range, based on ongoing demonstrated and continuous performance in the role. Short-Term and Long-Term bonus incentives are a part of the total compensation package and are based on Company and Individual performance.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment.
