The Project Manager (PM)/Business Analyst (BA) uses analytical techniques and an understanding of business processes to establish clear project guidelines between business and IT units. The PM/BA will be responsible for facilitating, gathering, and documenting key business requirements as well as testing and assuring the quality of project initiatives. The individual in this position is required to have a keen understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and how it impacts the scope and timeline of a project. The individual in this role will also have the qualifications to interpret business needs from project stakeholders and align them with projects leveraging MedCost technologies. The PM/BA will then ensure, together with the Business leaders and our IT partners, that the requirements are accurately translated into application development requests in accordance with business practices and methodologies. The PM/BA will be working across a range of projects complex and simple, and with multiple business units such as Operations and Information Technology. The PM/BA will be serving as a project coordinator, quality assurer and will be tasked with analyzing business processes within the company. This individual will drive recommendations to improve the effectiveness of those current and future business processes. The business needs of the PM/BA skillset will be driven by the initiatives of the organization. If these initiatives are limited, heavy emphasis will be placed on Project coordination.
Position Responsibilities:
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and task/workflow analysis.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and distinguish user requests from underlying business needs.
Document and support testing scenarios, Quality assurance, procedures, and timelines critical to project milestone dates.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and coordinate projects. Deliver the following artifacts as needed: BRD, Use Cases, Design Specifications, and project milestones.
Present information, conceptual review documents, requirements, and statement of work documents to internal and external clients.
Administrative tasks specific to forms, spreadsheets, calendaring, time entry and structured efficiencies.
Utilize experience in using company-wide requirements definitions, systems, and methodologies.
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneouslyDrive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute critical functions.
Serves as the conduit between clients (internal and external) and the software development team, leveraging business requirements as the medium.
Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates.
Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
Keeps Director of IT Solutions and Support abreast of the state of project milestones, barriers, and risks.
