Senior Backend Product Manager

Staff4Me is looking for a Senior Backend Product Manager to lead our backend product development initiatives. In this role, you will guide the design and implementation of scalable backend systems while ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and a proven ability to manage complex product initiatives that enhance performance and user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy and Development:

• Define and articulate the product vision and strategy for our backend systems in alignment with overall business goals.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement high-performance backend solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding backend product features and performance.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with frontend teams, UX designers, and QA to ensure cohesive product development.

• Oversee the product lifecycle from idea conception through launch, ensuring timely delivery of features and upgrades.
• Utilize Agile methodologies to manage product development processes, prioritize backlogs, and define clear milestones.

• Analyze product performance data and user feedback to inform iteration, feature enhancements, and product improvements.
• Leverage relevant metrics to track performance and user engagement, making data-driven decisions to optimize backend performance.

• Ensure that all backend features align with user needs and enhance the overall user experience consistently.
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to incorporate user feedback into backend product features effectively.

Qualifications:

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and schema design
• 5+ years of experience in product management with a focus on backend systems or software development.
• Deep technical understanding of backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, Python, or similar.
• Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and cloud computing platforms.
• Proven track record of successfully managing data-driven and complex product initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on metrics and performance analysis.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of aligning cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
