Tech Sales Representative – Western & Eastern Cape

Location: Western Cape, South Africa

Position Summary

ADM is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Tech Sales Representative to strengthen its footprint across the Western and Eastern Cape regions. This role is responsible for managing key accounts, expanding the client base, providing basic technical support, and overseeing depot stock levels and orders.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing ADM’s premix and additive business in the region, while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Business Support:

  • Oversee customer orders, inquiries, and technical support, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide basic technical advice and planning assistance to customers.
  • Compile and report sales data and market insights to the Commercial Team.
  • Support the execution of sales and marketing initiatives.

Sales Growth:

  • Expand ADM’s customer base across the Western and Eastern Cape.
  • Drive sales volume growth and broaden the product portfolio (Premix, Additives, Raw Materials) to maximize margin development.

Project & CRM Management:

  • Upload and maintain project records and tasks within Salesforce.
  • Monitor project statuses and ensure alignment with customer support needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Commercial Development & Deployment (CD&D) team to deliver excellent service.

Depot Management:

  • Manage monthly depot orders and maintain optimal stock levels.

Market Development:

  • Build market intelligence and identify opportunities to grow ADM’s premix and additive market share in the region.
  • Promote ADM's brand and solutions, enhancing visibility and positioning in the market.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented professional with a background in animal science, animal nutrition, or agriculture, coupled with a passion for sales and customer development.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment. A strong understanding of the regional agriculture and feed markets is essential.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in technical sales, customer service, or animal nutrition.
  • Based in the Western Cape region with strong local market knowledge.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the Western and Eastern Cape (company vehicle provided).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce experience is an advantage).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English (Afrikaans proficiency is an asset).
  • Self-starter with a customer-first mindset and a drive to achieve and exceed targets.
