Organization Overview:

Foresight Bank is the largest, locally owned community bank in Northern Illinois, with fifteen offices in the counties of Winnebago, Stephenson and Kankakee.   Foresight Bank is owned by Foresight Financial Group, Inc., an Illinois corporation founded in 1986, a financial holding company established under the Federal Reserve.

Position Summary:

Prepares final loan documents and processes loan files after closing to ensure documents are accurate and legally binding.  This position is responsible for delivering accurate loan documents in a timely and efficient manner, uploading loans to the core and executing quality control checks of loan documents. Requires a thorough knowledge of lending function in order to gather data, prepare documents and reports and complete special projects as assigned.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare accurate early and closing documents for a variety of consumer and real estate loans, ensuring all required pre-documentation, including verification of borrower identity, title work, appraisals and flood determinations has been completed, collateral support is in place, and proper approval has been granted.
  2. Performs loan opening process which includes initial escrow calculations and the ordering of appraisals, flood certificates and title work to ensure accuracy of supporting documentation.  
  3. Executes a quality control check of all required loan documents before the loan is booked and funded including reviewing title commitments and searches, checking for proper vesting, legal descriptions, dates, and signatures.
  4. Process all new and renewed loans
    1. Perform basic post-closing loan review, ensuring all required documents are properly signed, accurate and executable.
    2. Uploads loan information from the loan origination software to the core system for all loan requests and is executed in a timely manner and within proper established controls. 
    3. Process loan documents and prepare tickets or wire transfers.
    4. Pay fees, record/release mortgages, file UCC’s, and place auto title liens as needed.
  1. Prepare adverse action notices, ensuring second review of documentation
  1. Provides indirect customer service by sharing knowledge and providing guidance and answers for a variety of basic questions to co-workers and other bank staff, referring inquiries to the appropriate department or person as necessary.
  2. Ensures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules and regulations including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering to assist management in monitoring for suspicious activity, money laundering, or other illegal customer activity.
  3. Completes other projects and duties as assigned by the manager.

Technical:                            Knowledge of Jack Henry, AccuSystems, LaserPro, AdobePro.   Knowledge of business and banking technology and moderate skill level in usage and promotion of such.  Proficient in understanding the commercial loan documentation forms, content and processes.  Advanced knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.  Basic understanding of accounting principles.

 

Position Performance Standards:

Meets productivity and efficiency standards and accurately completes loan documentation requests by established deadlines.

Uploads loans to core and performs maintenance accurately and efficiently. 

Maintains an acceptable level of loan documentation and loan servicing exceptions, within span of control.

Complete ‘as assigned’ duties accurately and by designated deadlines.

Qualifications:

Associate Degree or HS Diploma/equivalent and commiserate experience preferred.  2+ years’ knowledge and experience in loan transactions, lending, loan operations and procedures, including a thorough knowledge of the consumer and/or real estate lending process, knowledge of TRID compliance a plus.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

This job operates in a clerical office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
