We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior Oracle DBA who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the database environment. This role involves ensuring database health, performance, availability, security, and integrity across all systems. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle database administration and expertise in AWS RDS and MySQL.

Responsibilities:

  • Upgrade and patch Oracle databases using techniques that minimize downtime.

  • Manage both cloud-based and on-prem databases, focusing on security, auditing, backup, and recovery.

  • Design and implement automated deployment tools and processes.

  • Maintain and support development, test, and production databases, including user access, table changes, performance, and troubleshooting.

  • Monitor database performance to ensure high availability.

  • Test and implement new database features for general use.

  • Automate and test backup and recovery solutions for databases across multiple technologies.

  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of major changes to database standards and procedures.

  • Document and maintain operational procedures and standards for business-critical databases.

  • Participate in on-call support, including production outage windows typically at 9 PM Central (production upgrades).

Qualifications:

  • +6 years of experience as an Oracle production DBA in a SaaS environment.

  • +2 years of experience with AWS RDS and MySQL.

  • Proficiency in Oracle Enterprise Manager 13.5 (leveraging dynamic groups, database monitoring templates, and high availability setup).

  • Expertise in backup and recovery with Oracle Secure Backup, encrypted backups to S3, and RMAN scripting.

  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Testing, Oracle Replay, SQL Performance Analyzer, and database cloning.

  • Strong knowledge in Oracle tuning and diagnostics, Oracle restart usage, and installation.

  • Experience with Oracle Advanced Data Guard rolling upgrades with DBMS_ROLLING.

  • Knowledge in PL/SQL  and SQL Performance tuning.

  • Familiar with Linux, Shell scripting, Terraform/Ansible, and GitHub/Bitbucket.

  • Oracle advanced security, Oracle GoldenGate and Veridata experience.

  • Expertise in Amazon Aurora, MySQL and Oracle EE on RDS.
