Job description

Horizon Tech is looking for a talented and experienced Graphic Designer - Signage who combines strong graphic design abilities with in-depth knowledge of signage types, materials, fabrication methods, and installation practices. This is a remote position supporting US-based clients, with a focus on delivering both creative and technically sound signage solutions across a wide range of applications.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Graphic Designer Signage, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and preparing artwork for various types of signage, ensuring each design is visually appealing, technically feasible, and compliant with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with clients, project managers, and fabrication teams to deliver effective signage from concept through production.

TYPES OF SIGNAGE CANDIDATE WILL WORK WITH:

  • Safety Signage - For construction zones, workplaces, and public safety.
  • Directional & Road Signage - Including wayfinding systems, parking signage, highway signs.
  • Storefront & Retail Signage - Custom exterior/interior branding, vinyl window graphics, blade signs.
  • Pylon & Monument Signs - Freestanding structures, both illuminated and non-illuminated.
  • Channel Letters & Backlit Signs - LED-illuminated signage, including halo-lit and front/back-lit designs.
  • Interior Signage - ADA-compliant signage, directories, lobby branding, office IDS.
  • Construction & Development Signage - Banners, hoardings, safety boards for active sites.
  • Wayfinding Systems - Large-scale signage systems for campuses, hospitals, and commercial centres.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design innovative, brand-aligned signage concepts across a variety of formats.
  • Produce accurate mockups, production-ready artwork, and fabrication drawings.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., ADA).
  • Recommend materials and production techniques tailored to project needs and environments.
  • Deliver detailed specs for fabrication teams, including measurements, materials, and mounting.
  • Work with clients and project managers to interpret briefs, incorporate feedback, and finalize designs.
  • Coordinate with fabrication and installation teams to resolve design or construction challenges.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects, delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 to 3+ years of hands-on experience in signage design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing diverse, real-world signage projects.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); Coreldraw is a plus.
  • Skilled in preparing vector artwork for print, large-format output, and CNC routing.
  • Solid understanding of signage construction (e.g., channel letters, sign cabinets, flex faces).
  • Familiarity with signage materials such as acrylic, aluminium, dibond, PVC, and HDU foam.
  • Strong technical layout skills with attention to scale, dimensioning, and placement.
  • Organized and proactive with strong time and project management abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and work with architectural/site plans or shop drawings (preferred).
  • Knowledge of lighting for signage (e.g., edge-lit, back-lit, front-lit) is highly desirable.

  • Job Timings: The Night shift follows the US-EST Time Zone.
  • Office Location: Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi
  • Remote Working: In the case of remote, a separate workspace and the required gadgets (Laptop-Core i5, 6th generation minimum, noise-cancelling headphones, webcam, power backup) will be arranged by the candidate.
