The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the full employee lifecycle, with key responsibilities in employee relations, benefits, HR operations, and project-based support across the broader people function. This role is ideal for an adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment and is ready to jump into a wide variety of HR workstreams. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in employee relations and benefits, solid working knowledge of employment law, and enjoys solving problems and driving improvements across HR processes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support on employee relations matters, including performance conversations, conflict resolution, and policy guidance to managers and employees.
Maintain thorough, organized documentation of employee relations cases and partner with HR leadership on issue resolution and trend analysis.
Serve as a contact for benefits administration, including open enrollment, employee questions, and vendor coordination.
Support data analysis and reporting related to benefits programs, including audits, reconciliations, and identifying process improvements.
Support core HR operations, including maintaining employee records, managing HR systems, generating reports, and streamlining day-to-day processes.
Provide project support across a wide range of HR initiatives, contributing to efforts spanning multiple functions such as benefits, employee relations, talent acquisition, and people operations.
Participate in the maintenance and updates of employee policies, ensuring clarity and consistency with company culture and evolving workforce needs.
Stay current on employment laws and regulations to support timely policy updates, required employee training, and risk-aware decision-making across the organization.
Proactively identify inefficiencies in HR workflows and contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy, scalability, and the employee experience.

Position Specifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CBP, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated strength in employee relations and benefits administration required.
Experience supporting HR functions across multiple areas, such as onboarding, recruiting, or internal process improvement required.
Familiarity with California employment practices strongly preferred.
Experience working in a fully remote or technology-driven work environment is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Foundational understanding of key regulations such as ADA, FMLA, Title VII, ADEA, FLSA, and state-specific laws (e.g., California wage and hour laws)
Solid understanding of employee relations practices, including performance and workplace issue resolution.
Strong interpersonal, communication, consultative, and influencing skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with utmost discretion.
Proficient in Google Workspace, with strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formulas).
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation and follow-through capabilities.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and stepping into varied workflows as needed.
Self-starter who operates independently and thinks critically to contribute proactively to team goals.
Applies innovative and contemporary approaches to solving problems, and adaptable to frequently changing priorities.
Strong business acumen and business partnering skills.
Travel:
Minimal, generally 12 days or less per year, ~2X team get-togethers a year
