About the Role: Security Journey is on a mission to reduce software vulnerabilities through education. We’re looking for a talented and experienced Sr. UX/UI Designer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping user-centered digital experiences by conducting research, creating detailed mockups and prototypes, and collaborating with a close-knit team. This is a hands-on position requiring a deep understanding of user experience principles, exceptional design skills, and the ability to translate complex ideas into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing designs. This is a remote (work from home) position for candidates based in the United States.
What you’ll do:
User Research:
Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs and behaviors.
Analyze research findings to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
Create user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to guide design decisions.
Design and Prototyping:
Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that illustrate user flows and interactions.
Ensure designs align with project goals, brand guidelines, and accessibility standards.
Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and usability testing.
Contribute to the overall product and design direction of the whole company
Collaboration:
Work closely with product and developers to ensure seamless handoff and implementation of designs.
Provide design input and guidance throughout the development process.
What we're looking for:
5+ years proven experience as a UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing research-driven design work.
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
Strong understanding of UX principles, usability testing, and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, Section 508).
Experience with user research methodologies and the ability to translate insights into actionable designs.
Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
Bonus Points:
Experience designing for developers.
Knowledge of front-end development principles or tools is a plus.
