Position Summary:
The Level 4 DC Installer is a senior-level field technician responsible for executing and supervising complex DC power system installations. This role includes working on live power distribution systems, performing equipment testing and turn-up, and leading a team of installers through all phases of deployment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in telecom power systems and the leadership skills to serve as the on-site supervisor, with a strong commitment to job site safety and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute installation of DC power systems and related infrastructure per engineering specifications.
  • Perform work on energized equipment and circuits without direct supervision, while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
  • Add/remove telecom batteries and circuits on live power distribution systems.
  • Conduct DC controller software upgrades and system cutovers.
  • Perform equipment testing, turn-up, and quality inspections.
  • Analyze and resolve issues with job specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Lead verification (voltage) and oversee volatile work activities inside energized equipment.
  • Prepare and correct customer documentation and office record drawings.
  • Assign tasks to crew members and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Communicate job progress and issues with the Project Manager and, when required, directly with the customer.
  • Enforce Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines and ensure all team members comply with site-specific safety procedures.
  • Ability to identifying and mitigating potential hazards before and during installation activities.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in DC power equipment installation.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with telecom batteries and non-working equipment wiring.
  • Strong understanding of DC power systems, telecom infrastructure, and occupational safety standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and job specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred:
  • Technical certifications (e.g., BICSI, FOA, CompTIA).
  • Experience with large-scale telecom or data center deployments.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift at least 75 lbs.; maneuver batteries weighing 80–750 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
  • Push/pull cables up to 60 lbs.
  • Climb ladders and work from elevated positions for extended periods.
  • Stand, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, and reach frequently throughout the workday.
  • Work in environments with moderate noise and temperature variations.
  • Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by job site conditions.
