Job Title: Director, Engineering          

Location: USA Remote                

Function: eClinical Engineering                  


We're on a mission to revolutionize the way clinical trials are conducted, and we're looking for a seasoned Director, Engineering to lead our software development teams in delivering innovative clinical trial software. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee the entire software engineering lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, and ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, security, and compliance. To succeed in this role, you'll need a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills, with a strong background in healthcare or life sciences technology, agile product development methodologies, and a proven track record of driving high-performing teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business objectives, driving the growth and success of multiple high-performing software development teams.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive growth and improvement in the engineering organization, aligning with company goals and objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and open communication within the team, providing coaching and mentorship to engineers to support their career development and technical growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and vendors, demonstrating exceptional communication skills to effectively communicate technical ideas and plans to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Oversee the software engineering lifecycle: requirements gathering, architectural design, software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and support, ensuring that solutions meet industry standards and client needs.
  • Drive the technical vision and architecture strategy for scalable, secure, and compliant software systems aligned with regulatory requirements governing clinical trial software.

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in .NET and C# programming languages
  • Experience with SQL Server and SQL Azure databases
  • Familiarity with Angular framework for front-end development
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and principles
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of API design and implementation using RESTful APIs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations governing clinical trial software, including data privacy, security, and compliance standards.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with data analytics, AI/ML applications in clinical research, or real-world data integrations.
  • Hands-on experience with validated systems and audit readiness in clinical settings.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup or rapidly scaling environment within life sciences or digital health.

COMMITMENTS:

·       Standard Hours 40 hours per week, one hour lunch, Monday – Friday.   Additional hours as needed.

·       Willing to work in shifts as and when needed.
