Job description

As a Security Tool Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of security tools and automation solutions. Your work will involve building security data integrations, automating security functions, and supporting security management systems to enhance the organization's security posture. You will also help develop custom security applications and ensure the integrity and security of related codebases.

  • Design and develop security tools and data integrations to improve security monitoring, analysis, and response capabilities.

  • Automate key security functions and capabilities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

  • Support the development and administration of security management systems, such as ServiceNow.

  • Maintain and enhance custom security applications, scripts, and code bases, ensuring proper version control using tools.

  • Implement and manage processes for vulnerability patching and remediation of custom security applications and tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security analysts and engineers, to understand their tool requirements and provide effective solutions.

  • Generate documentation of security tools and automation processes.

  • Monitor the performance and reliability of developed security tools, proactively addressing issues and optimizing performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3 or more years of experience developing and maintaining software or security tools.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python.

  • Experience with data integration techniques and tools.

  • Familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting.

  • Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.

  • Knowledge of security concepts and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with security management platforms like ServiceNow.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards .

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.

  • Experience with writing software clients to access data from API services.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
