Job Summary:

Develops educational programs and processes to promote professional development for nurses throughout Community Medicine. Coordinates the delivery of nursing education activities in Community Practice. Will focus on the design, structure, and presentation of information and how these issues impact nurses' decision-making.

Job Duties:

  • Develops orientation and educational programs to support professional development and growth among nurses.
  • Serve as the administrator and nurse planner for provider activities for the Geisinger Responsible for overall planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the providers Continuing Nursing Education activities.
  • Serves as the liaison with Pennsylvania State Nurses Association regarding the provider application and annual summaries.
  • Participates in the formulation and revisions of polices and procedures to assure that they support and reflect the nursing scope of practice and operational initiatives.
  • Analyzes documents, files, reports, and other application-related nursing workflows.
  • Assures that the analysis and workflows address regulatory requirements.
  • Participate as a content expert to evaluate information in nursing and clinical practice.
  • Participate as a content expert for the framework that surrounds the nursing processes for assessment, diagnosis, patient and family education, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Supports quality and pay-for-performance programs through process improvement and workflow reengineering.
  • This includes identification and development of key clinical initiatives to improve quality and workflow to enhance clinic efficiency and patient engagement.
