About The Role

Sunco Lighting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to assist in various accounting functions, including financial reporting, compliance, and operational accounting. This role requires expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial closing processes (monthly, quarterly, yearly), and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The Senior Accountant will support internal teams, external auditors, and management to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.

What You'll Do

• Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Assist in preparing financial reports: Cash flow statements, P&L reports, balance sheets, and inventory performance analysis.
• Provide audit support for franchise tax, sales tax, workers’ compensation, and banking audits.
• Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close
• Support reconciliation of financial statements and journal entries.
• Assist with depreciation & fixed asset schedules, including cost segregation analysis.
• Help with revenue recognition & accrual accounting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support inventory valuation & write-down processes.
• Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
• Assist with AP & AR processes, ensuring timely invoice approvals and payments.
• Monitor Net 30 account collections and help ensure timely payments.
• Verify supplier invoices and assist with vendor negotiations for quotes and credit applications.
• Compliance & Tax Filings
• Assist with 1099 filings, payroll tax confirmations (941, W-2, W-3), and 401(k) reconciliations.
• Work with CPA firms on compiled financials, year-end tax filings, and depreciation schedules.
• Banking & Treasury Management
• Assist with loan payments, reconciliations, and banking covenants compliance.
• Help oversee ACH payments, wire transfers, and CashPro banking system integration.
• Support daily positive pay reviews and bank reconciliations.
• Payroll & Employee Compensation Accounting
• Reconcile payroll transactions to QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy in hours worked and payroll tax filings.
• Assist with final payroll check processing via Rippling and verification of accrued leave balances.
• Help reconcile Rippling Spends transactions (credit card expenses) with QuickBooks.
• Supply Chain & Inventory Management
• Assist supply chain teams with inventory analysis, Freight-In cost tracking, and container liquidation reports.
• Support procurement and supplier management processes.
• Custom Reports & Ad Hoc Requests
• Help generate custom financial reports tailored to departmental needs.
• Assist with reconciliations for Census Bureau filings, energy commission benchmarks, and governmental compliance reports.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 1 U.S.-based company under GAAP
• Strong financial closing experience (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, automation)
• Ability to quickly adapt to new ERP systems and accounting software
• Experience working with external auditors & compliance teams
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup

• E-commerce experience (Amazon, Walmart, Shopify financial reporting)
• Experience with supply chain cost tracking & inventory management
