The Strategic Planning Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of implementing new mammography offices, as well as key mammography projects. Responsibilities include managing multiplex projects from planning through delivery. Monitors project budgets, inventory, and production schedule. Generates data for new prospects and reviews construction plans for compliance with Hologic engineering requirements. Maintains the optimally efficient inventory of all necessary equipment (i.e. workstations). The project manager with be the main liaison between project members, cross-functional teams, third-party external vendors, and other stakeholders. The project manager will ensure these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.
The Strategic Planning Project Manager will be familiar with mammography policies and procedures, updating existing and documenting new policies and procedures. The project manager will be the mammography teams EMR SME with the ability to build new EMR departments and train care centers on EMR products related to scheduling, benefit eligibility, mammography/ultrasound orders, and results reporting. The Strategic Planning Project Manager establishes clear ownership for the project tasks and leads problem-solving to achieve maximum results. Reports to head of the division, VP Breast Imaging Services.
Responsibilities
Supervises requirements planning for division projects
Prepares proposals and site floorplans in conformance with operational and engineering/electrical requirements
Maintains Mammography Implementation project timelines, tasks, milestones, and deadlines
Sets schedule for project and flow of necessary inventory
Prepares budget and oversees expenditures
Communicates schedule and changes to project members, cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, construction, and other stakeholders
Plans and facilitates weekly project meetings between project members, physicians and office managers, cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, construction, and other stakeholders
Prepares agendas and meeting minutes for weekly project meetings to keep all participants accountable and involved
Identify and assess risk(s) of delays and mitigate with operational solutions and/or adjust installation and go live dates to account for risk(s)
Allocate resources and hours to project and adjust when necessary
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within the construction budget
Report and escalate issues or delays to the management team as needed
Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors for new and existing products and equipment
Delegate project tasks based on individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels
Evaluate the best location for the new care center based on patient demographics
Identify architectural firms and general contractors for new care centers
Conduct on-site visits at proposed new care center locations to assess if they fit our clinical and medical equipment needs
Draft and propose ideal floorplan for new care center implementation to architectural firm
Manage general contractor throughout buildout with items related to permits being filed, finishes being selected
Manage low voltage vendor and identify networking needs
Provide leadership role, training, and SME for the project and operational team on EMR systems for clinical workflows
Travel is required, approximately 10%
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum 3 years of experience as project manager, preferred.
Ability to lead project team members for successful implementation
May require PM certification
Healthcare/mammography/imaging implementation/construction and/or experience is a plus.
Computer Networking skills.
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and be a critical thinker.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
