A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Identifies payer opportunities and issues and implements programs to resolve/decrease barriers to entry for the company's products or therapies.
- Works closely with the Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement staff to identify/solve coding, coverage, or payment issues and provide support as necessary.
- May create training and deliver education programs to the sales force, physicians, case managers, medical directors, and billing personnel in clinics and hospitals.
- Develops and implements reimbursement strategies and programs to obtain coverage, coding, and payment from payers/providers.
- Assists with payer opportunities and issues to resolve/decrease barriers to entry for the company's products or therapies.
- Assists with the evaluation of the reimbursement environment in the US and global geographies for the market entry needs for new product development or indication expansion.
- Assist with periodic analysis of Medicare regulations and communicate changes to the Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement team. Assist with developing strategies and draft comments for advocacy with CMS and commercial payers as necessary, and identify opportunities to enhance payment for therapies.
- Interacts and works closely with other departments, such as, but not limited to, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, and Compliance to ensure adequate support and collaboration for reimbursement content.
- Assists with evaluating reimbursement-related advice to product development teams, marketing, sales, regulatory, clinical, and business leaders.
- Ensures customer requirements are implemented while maintaining compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 4 years of Reimbursement experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have
- Strong understanding of reimbursement processes and payer/provider dynamics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working virtually, with flexible workplace arrangements and business virtual technologies.
- Able to manage complex problems and projects while exercising independent decision-making and analytical thinking skills, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent computer skills and advanced competency with MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, databases, and graphic presentations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strengths in the following areas: Adaptable, Problem Solving, Detail-Oriented, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Customer Service, Process Improvement, Communication, Highly Organized, with strong Time-Management and Prioritization skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$98,400.00 - $147,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
