About the Role:

This is a senior role within Capita’s Technical Operations Delivery team

As part of this role you will be reporting directly to the Managing Director of Technology Delivery.

With responsibility for leading a team of Cloud professionals in the delivery and continuous development of Cloud services into Capita’s internal and external clients, this role will be the opportunity to develop services with new technologies.

This leader will provide Cloud Services through the management of public cloud provides and hyper-scalers (Primarily Azure & AWS).

You will get an opportunity to work the skilled teams to develop all of our Cloud Service offerings, establish new offerings in an ever-changing environment, optimize our cloud usage and further develop our strategic direction and cloud adoption.

As the Director of Cloud Services, you will provide strong leadership to our Cloud business area, ensuring it has a clear and communicated vision, strategy, and objectives.

You will use data, statistics, and reporting to identify key challenges and drive continuous improvement within Cloud Services. Your role will involve consolidating, standardizing, and continuously improving service delivery to ensure supportable, resilient, and predictable outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead the Cloud business area, aligning it with the business strategy and customer requirements.
  • Manage the Cloud Services, including development, performance management, and succession planning of colleagues.
  • Working closely with the Hosting Director to ensure that the management of Cloud and on premise is a seamless service.
  • Develop cost-effective delivery models aligned with industry best practices.
  • Create and disseminate regular management reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Build strong and effective working relationships within the pillar, division, and across the organization.
  • Be fully accountable for the financial performance of the business area.
  • Act as the senior point of escalation within Cloud Services.
  • Ensure compliance with policies articulated by CISO and engage in operational and security governance.

What We Are Looking For

  • Excellent understanding of Cloud technologies, including Azure and AWS.
  • Proven ability to develop a strong Cloud Service, making use of the latest technology, with exceptional partnership ability with Cloud Providers. This role is about having a modern cloud service and continuous improvement to stay abreast with Cloud Provider developments and adapting services in an Agile and responsive manner.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop an inclusive culture.
  • Exceptional people management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to stay abreast of external market trends and adapt to the changing business environment.
  • Excellent business, commercial, and financial management skills including responsibility for Cloud FinOps.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate effectively
