Senior+ Design Engineer

We’re building a membership platform for the restaurant industry. Businesses get a simple way to connect with their customers, and users get membership benefits & rewards in all of their favourite restaurants, bars, cafes, and nightclubs. Our app is the most popular membership app in Finland, and we are expanding across Europe in 2025.

As we grow our product team, we’re hiring experienced senior and staff-level Design Engineers to shape how our product feels and works. This is a hands-on, hybrid role for someone equally passionate about frontend development and product design - someone who enjoys crafting elegant interfaces and bringing them to life in production.

You’ll partner closely with product leaders, and other engineers to own the full journey from concept to shipped feature. We’re looking for creative minds who care deeply about craft, usability, performance, and product thinking - people who can work through ambiguity and own problems end-to-end.

This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in Europe (GMT+0 to GMT+3).

🔧 What You’ll Do

• Own UX end-to-end, from user flows and wireframes to polished UI and production-ready code.

• Design and build UI components, patterns, and features using modern frontend tools - currently React, SvelteKit, and TypeScript.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, designers, and product managers to explore ideas, define solutions, and deliver value.

• Prototype quickly and validate concepts with users and stakeholders.

• Drive the evolution of our design system, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across the product.

• Advocate for usability and accessibility, ensuring our platform is inclusive and intuitive.

• Champion a design-engineering culture, where designers understand code and engineers care about craft.

🌟 What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years in product design, frontend engineering, or a hybrid design-engineering role. You’re comfortable shipping both high-fidelity designs and production code.

• Technical Skill: Strong frontend expertise (React, TypeScript, SvelteKit, etc.).

• Design Craft: You have a refined eye for UI, strong visual and interaction design skills, and experience working with design systems in Figma.

• Product Thinking: You understand the “why” behind what you’re building. You balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to craft thoughtful solutions.

• Collaboration: You’re a proactive communicator and a generous teammate. You thrive in a remote, async-friendly environment.

• Ownership: You take responsibility for your work, make informed decisions, and follow through from idea to shipped product.

• Previous early-stage startups experience.

• Experience contributing to or owning a design system.

• Familiarity with backend or API design considerations.
