The Impact of Director, User Experience Design to Coupa:

What you'll do:
  • Define and drive comprehensive UX strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and business goals, ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience across all platforms.
  • Plans, manages and guides the activities of a team responsible for creating and enhancing the experience and functionality of user interfaces for the solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of UX designers, researchers, and strategists. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
  • Understand air-cover and create space for innovation, learning  and growth within a team.
  • Understand and have experience using objective research and a design process to drive business outcomes that are measurable and have clear, lasting impact to the business.
  • Communicate clearly and can articulate concepts to people at any level of the organization, including executives.
  • Guide the end-to-end design process from ideation to implementation, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet user needs and adhere to best practices.
  • Partner with product management, engineering, marketing, and other departments to integrate UX principles into product development processes. Act as a key stakeholder in product development, supporting user needs and design principles.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design and research. Drive innovation within the UX team.

  • What you will bring to Coupa:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction , or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in user experience design and research, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading successful UX initiatives in a complex environment
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your UX work, including examples of user research, design processes, and the impact of your work on business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead teams, manage cross-functional collaborations, and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands on experience with the design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
