Job description

The Indiana Medicaid Biller is responsible for preparing, submitting, and following up on claims to Indiana Medicaid for healthcare services provided. This role ensures accurate billing, timely reimbursement, and compliance with Medicaid guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit clean claims to Indiana Medicaid through appropriate billing systems (e.g., Provider Healthcare Portal, clearinghouse).

  • Review and correct billing errors or denials, and resubmit claims as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with Indiana Medicaid billing guidelines and regulations.

  • Verify patient eligibility and Medicaid coverage.

  • Work with providers, insurance representatives, and internal staff to resolve billing issues.

  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.

  • Stay updated on changes to Medicaid policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a billing certificate or associate's degree).

  • 2-5 years of experience in medical billing, preferably with Indiana Medicaid.

  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.

  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing systems and regulations.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • CAH and RHC billing experience preferred
