Our work depends on a Cloud Engineer joining our team to act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud end-to-end architecture, including Azure, GCP, and AWS, as well as future providers, networking, provisioning, and management.

HOW A CLOUD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Demonstrate ability to articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
  • Develop solutions and evaluate alternatives
  • Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for applications
  • Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
  • Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
  • Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University in a related field is preferred. In lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering and infrastructure design, implementation, and support across GCP, AWS, and Azure platforms
  • Proven ability to design and deploy scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures
  • Collaborative experience working with high-performing teams and stakeholders across technical and non-technical functions
  • Hands-on experience with automation, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools
  • Working knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Agile Methodologies
    • SDLC best practices
    • Change Management and Configuration Management (e.g., VersionOne, ServiceNow)
    • Understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies

Security Clearance Level:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $128,666 - $174,078. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
