About the Role

HARMAN is undergoing a transformation within the businesses and functions that will enable us to grow ambitiously.  We need to look at our people, processes and technology and HR is determined to play an active role in those initiatives. In order to execute HARMAN’s strategy, we must examine what we are doing today and what needs to change in organization design, processes and systems so we can support the growing needs of the business.

The VP, People Experience is a strategic leadership role reporting to the CHRO responsible leading cross-divisional COEs focusing on the Hire to Retire processes and the experiences (people, process and technology) they deliver to employees at HARMAN. As a senior HR leader you will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, as well as lead teams that are responsible for collaborating across our divisions within HARMAN, design, implement, and oversee initiatives that actively enhance the overall employee experience across all stages of the employment lifecycle, aiming to foster a positive workplace culture, boost employee engagement, and maximize satisfaction and retention through data-driven insights. This role will establish governance, maintain and monitor the success of the strategies connecting HR technology, people and processes to build people programs and solutions that will build an exceptional employee experience across all HARMAN geographies and divisions. The VP of Employee experience will have deep knowledge of how HR Technology can enable employee experience leveraging solutions that integrate with core HCM systems (e.g. Workday, Avature). 

What You Will Do

  • Lead the design and implementation of a holistic employee experience strategy aligned with the company’s business goals and culture.
  • Partner/collaborate/advise Divisional teams, the HR delivery center and HR Enablement teams to ensure alignment on employee experience priorities, managing the overall HR Roadmap and annual cycles.
  • Assess the HR Technology landscape and bring an outside in approach to HR Technology that not only enhances the experience for our employees but also establishes efficiencies in our everyday processes and drives business success.
  • Support the CHRO in building the HR Strategy for HARMAN and translating that strategy into clear programs and projects to make up an executable HR Roadmap.
  • Work with the business on specific needs related to people processes and assess feasibility in the current environment and advise on changes and/or investments needs to meet the people needs of a specific Division or across all of HARMAN.
  • Assess current processes and work with the divisions on improvements needed to support business objectives and drive simplification and efficiencies across our technology, processes and people programs.
  • Develop, advocate, and execute HARMAN Culture and Values plan for the organization that not only elevates, but also drives a sense of employee belonging.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • 15+ years’ experience in Human Resources either as a leader of a COE or a consultant implementing transformational HR programs.
  • Strong skills and knowledge in HCM systems such as Workday or SuccessFactors, and knowledge of other complimentary systems and solutions that can drive simplicity and integration across the HR Technology Landscape at HARMAN.
  • Leadership experience and ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional, multi-cultural teams.
  • Knowledge of current HR Trends and best practices related to employee experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree level

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Experience in developing HR Strategies and implementing large scale transformational initiatives to a global population.
  • Experience leading global/virtual teams through large scale initiatives.
  • Consulting and advising on large scale multi-cultural projects

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 25%, domestic and international travel
  • This role is eligible to work remotely full-time with occasional trips into a HARMAN office location when required (this could be on 24-hour notice)
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
