Software Engineer

The Team:

S&P Global Mobility is looking for a Software Engineer to support the Commercial & Aftermarket operations team. This team supports three critical automotive product suites and collaborates across the organization to bring high quality and impactful business solutions to our clients. The successful candidate will manage a workload ranging from customer facing fulfilment activities, application configuration / support, project related development / support, vehicle and industry coding tasks, as well as engagement with both internal and external customer service related inquires.  

The impact:

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the Commercial Vehicle and Aftermarket Production Operations team. This team supports two critical automotive product portfolios and collaborates across the organization to bring high quality and impactful business solutions to our valued end users. The successful candidate will manage a workload ranging from customer facing fulfilment activities, application configuration / support, project related development / support, vehicle and industry coding tasks, as well as engagement with both internal and external customer service related inquires. 

Responsibilities:
  • Building, analyzing and troubleshooting custom reporting and maintaining a book of assigned cyclical tasks and customer deliverables.
  • Gathering and interpreting business requirements.
  • Query tuning preferably within Oracle databases, and related SQL databases.
  • Manage and deliver within SLA a book of cyclical and ad-hoc customer deliverables.
  • Support and perform testing during application data loads and server upgrade cycles.
  • Post deployment verification of published application releases.
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing existing process flows.
  • Creation and testing of new and existing cyclical workflows.
  • Experience with API concepts and technologies.
What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's of Computer Science, Management Information systems or experience in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in software development or data analysis roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Demonstrated ability to aggressively problem solve in the absence of complete information.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and understand business needs to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Hands-on background with: Python, SQL, Relational Databases (Oracle), Git, Linux, Docker/Containers, Terraform, AWS, Gen AI
