The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring accurate accounting reconciliations and analysis to ensure efficient financial operations. This position requires meticulous diligence, efficient data processing, and adherence to confidentiality standards for both business and personal records. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance and Accounting team and is relied upon as a vital and integral part of the department. The ideal candidate has three or more years of experience in balance sheet account reconciliation, strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy, basic knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
As our Senior Accountant you will:Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, and other financial records.Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliation reports and supporting documentation.Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in a timely manner.Collaborate with other departments to resolve outstanding financial issues.Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.Provide recommendations to improve reconciliation processes and reduce errors.Investigate and resolve discrepancies, variances, or unusual transactions across various accounts. Monitor and clear open items in reconciliation accounts on a timely basis.Collaborate with internal teams (AP/AR/Payroll/Operations) to resolve outstanding reconciliation items.Provide ad hoc financial reports and support special projects as requested.Generate ad-hoc reports and assist with accounting close processes at month and Continuously identify opportunities for improving record keeping increasing efficiency.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.Assist with special projects, audits, and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, as required.Assist with additional team responsibilities as needed.You have:A bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, finance, or accounting3-5 years of accounting experienceKnowledge of general accounting proceduresProficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems.Experience with NetSuite and Concur a plusWorking knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets)Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environmentNoodle Africa Benefits:Work from the comfort of your home office!Great compensation packageTools you need on us!
