What You Can Expect
This role will report to the Chief Innovation, Strategy and Business Development Officer and the Senior VP of Investor Relations.
Duties
You will be responsible for developing and leading the market intelligence and forecasting team to provide insights to the Commercial, Strategy, Business Development, and Investor Relations teams, among others. Duties include:
Forecasting orthopedic volume and pricing trends
Building market models
Identifying and analyzing changing market dynamics
Prospective market data collection through means such as doctor conversations, surveys and 3rd party sources
Forecasting market share shifts, and monitoring the competitive landscape
Serve as a resource in the development of Zimmer Biomet Holdings (ZBH) business strategies.
How You'll Create Impact
Monitor and elevate to ZBH leadership, business and regional partners business, competitive, customer and industry issues affecting Zimmer Biomet’s (ZB) including procedural and market trending
Build regional and country market models that are adjusted real-time based on market research findings and leveraging predictive analytics in partnership with data science teams
Manage the development of Global Business market models that provide a
3-to-5-year Market Projection
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts to craft compelling data narratives that enhance and support market models with clear, actionable insights
Conduct market research to inform prospective market intelligence and forecasting:
Regularly perform doctor interviews and surveys (utilizing 3rd parties) to gauge shifting market dynamics, forecast procedure volumes and market share trends
Survey and speak with hospital/ASC management to understand pricing dynamics and capital budgets
Use prospectively gathered data to assist with product launch strategies and forecasting
Track competitive developments
Work closely with the commercial and finance teams to assist in the development of near- and longer-term ZBH forecasts
Pressure test models/assumptions against Analyst forecasts
Support the IR team to gather market and product intelligence for investor presentations and communications
Support business and strategy teams to provide prospective market trending and data to support strategic investments, launch strategies and forecasting
Serve as a resource for ZBH strategic decisions
What Makes You Stand Out
Deep experience in medical device market research, including utilizing 3rd party resources
Strong understanding of the global healthcare system, including market dynamics, payor landscape and regulatory pathways
Understanding of medical device markets in general, and orthopedics specifically
Strong financial analytical skills, including building and maintaining market models
Experience with modeling market share dynamics and product launches
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, i.e., Power Point, Excel, and Word
Proficiency with analytics software, i.e. PowerBI, Tableau, Altryx, etc.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
Experience leading teams
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience, or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 12+ years of related experience required
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple direct reports
Advance degree preferred: Masters or PhD
Comfortable with setting and executing strategies
Experience with C-Suite communication
Compensation
Expected Compensation: $185,000-$231,000
