The Information Technology Department is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to join the Core Technology Services team. This individual will build and support the organizations network connecting users and patients to IT systems across US Fertility’s multiple sites, data centers and cloud environments. This position will play a key role in facilitating the organization’s rapid growth by ensuring users and patients can reliably connect to USF’s enterprise solutions no matter where they are.

We are currently seeking a full-time Lead Network Engineer to join our team. This position is remote, and the general schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, with the ability to work on-call as necessary.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Lead Network Engineer is responsible for:

  • Designing, building and maintaining the underlying network that our users and products run on
  • Thinking critically to solve complex issues both with a team as well as independently
  • Prioritizing multiple work streams simultaneously and still meet project deadlines
  • Providing 24-hour support for network infrastructure in an on-call rotation
  • Provide usage metrics and make recommendations on network topologies
  • Creating detailed Network Documentation, pictures or it didn’t happen
  • Provide configuration templates for network devices
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and upgrades on network infrastructure

What You'll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s, or higher, degree in a technical field
  • 5 Years of experience implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting converged IP networks
  • 3 Years of experience supporting Fortinet’s network and security platform
  • 3 Years of experience with SDWAN concepts and topologies
  • 5 Years with advanced knowledge of routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF & BGP
  • 3 Years of experience in supporting Enterprise LANs and Wireless setups
  • 3 Years of experience with networking in AWS and Azure
  • 3 Years of Experience working in a change-controlled environment – cowboys are for the wild west, professionals plan their work, keep to schedules, and react quickly when needed
  • Familiarity with network automation utilizing Ansible, Python, Jinja2
  • Knowledge of common development tools like Git & Jenkins
  • ITIL Foundations v3 certification or higher
  • Able to work scheduled and on-call rotations (rotation will include weekends and holidays)
