IOT Team is Hiring RTOS Kernel engineers for Samsung SmartThings: Digital Appliance Platform (Internet of Things Platform).

About the Role
Samsung SmartThings is an IoT platform with ~150 million Connected IoT devices & 300M+ Users.  One get to build big scale service.

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, and optimize RTOS kernel features, ensuring reliable and deterministic real-time performance.

• Develop and maintain kernel drivers for various peripherals and communication protocols.

• Perform in-depth debugging and troubleshooting hi of kernel-related issues.

• Contribute to the development of kernel test suites and automation frameworks.

• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advancements in RTOS technology & controller architectures.

• Collaborate with other engineers on system integration and optimization tasks.

• Document work clearly and concisely for internal and external stakeholders.

• Creating Low-level design and flow diagram for the feature under development.

• Enhancing the design of existing modules by frequent code review and adopting to new best practices.

• Covering all functional and non-functional requirement for a feature/module under development.

• Delivering the required output by adhering to Agile methodology of development.

• Mentoring to new joiners.

• Striving for excellence by doing strong self-test and minimizing the defects before release.

• Showing sense of urgency and fixing the Issues on reasonable time-frame post release.

• Discussing with stakeholders for any missing requirement, gaining clarity

• Involvement in ongoing innovation activities and tech fests inside / outside the company.

What You Need to Be Successful

Mandatory Skills:

• Programming Skills:  C, C++ programming language and familiarity with assembly language, Python, shell scripting.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in device drivers & kernel development, with a strong understanding of Linux kernel internals.

• Design Skills: Solid knowledge of operating system concepts, including process scheduling, memory management, concurrency, and synchronization.

• Good understanding of code versioning/IDE tools: Git, Make files

Debugging tools and methodologies for kernel issues, performance profiling and optimization techniques.

• Good understanding of different controller architectures like RISC, CISC & RISC V etc.

Bonus Points if You Have  

Linux device drivers, Bootloaders.
