Accounting Operations Director for Marmon Water is a key Accounting and Financial Reporting role within the Group, with primary responsibility of using best practices in the execution of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset Accounting, Journal Entries, and Financial Reporting across the Group, with primary focus on North America. Key activities include analyzing current processes, leveraging current and new technology for simplification, including the use of AI based software, and consolidating activities to increase the effectiveness of the Accounting and Finance functions of Marmon Water. This is a remote US based position reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, Marmon Water Group.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze current accounting processes across the Group and provide recommendations for simplification and automation.
  • Lead the deployment of approved strategic accounting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with and manage a diverse and decentralized accounting team: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset Accounting, Journal Entries, and Financial Reporting
  • Monitor transactions, identifying abnormal, non-compliant, or high-risk transactions providing intervention or correction where needed.
  • Develop a roadmap to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Accounting and Finance functions. Serve as an internal champion for innovation and continuous improvement in these processes.
  • Facilitate audit responses and address questions or concerns as raised by internal and external auditors in a timely manner.
  • Communicate a vision and clear sense of purpose that others want to follow. An ability to command engaged attention and is consistently encouraging. Create an enthusiastic buy-in to strategies and initiatives. Move others to set high standards for themselves and their teams.
  • Coach and develop finance teams. Ensure proper prioritization of activities and projects.
  • Challenges current thinking to understand new possibilities. Willing to recommend unpopular decisions and take unwavering action to achieve results.
  • 20%-30% Travel (primarily U.S. Travel).  More intense during first 1-2 years. 

Qualifications/Skills Experience We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or in a related field.
  • Master’s degree in business administration will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of five years' experience as a controller or assistant controller.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence (BI) software.  Epicor experience advantageous.
  • Analytical Insight – capability to collect and combine data from multiple sources, analyze large amounts of data and develop analytical tools to synthesize learnings into actionable recommendations.
  • Formulate business problems to enable solving through data and hypotheses testing. Reframe and simplify problems into smaller, solvable steps.
  • Experience in transforming accounting and finance functions.
  • Ability to keep abreast of new trends and software developments relative to this role.
  • Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and presenting. Sets a standard for listening, and coaches others to do the same.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Pay Range:

128,000.00 - 192,000.00
