Principal Quality Engineer

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Quality Engineer (QE) to drive quality engineering excellence across our teams. This is a hands-on technical role focusing on advancing modern QE principles and methods. As a Principal QE, you’ll collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed quality at every stage of the development lifecycle. You’ll be a key player in elevating our testing processes, embracing automation, and ensuring our platform delivers the highest levels of performance, security, and reliability.

What you’ll be responsible for:

• Define and drive the QA vision and strategy aligned with product and engineering objectives.
• Promote a “shift-left” mindset that focuses on early testing and defect prevention.
• Architect and maintain test automation frameworks that support integration, functional, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build testable architectures and improve test coverage and reliability.
• Provide mentorship and coaching across teams to elevate quality practices and technical testing skills.
  
  
• Introduce innovative approaches to testing including AI/ML-assisted test strategies.
• Analyze and manage quality metrics to drive continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making.
• Champion continuous integration and delivery practices that accelerate development velocity without compromising quality.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify risks, address bottlenecks, and improve delivery outcomes.

What you need:

• Deep expertise in test automation, continuous integration, and delivery pipelines.
• Proven experience shaping testing strategies across multiple teams in modern software environments.
• Hands-on skills with automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• A strong understanding of backend, API, UI, performance, and security testing principles.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages like JavaScript, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with integrating quality checks throughout the development lifecycle, including evaluating and using AI-powered testing tools.
• A strategic mindset with the ability to define scalable quality practices while remaining comfortable with hands-on execution when needed.
• Exceptional mentoring and coaching ability to upskill both developers and testers.
• Strong influencing skills with a collaborative approach to driving change without relying on authority.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly autonomous, self-directed, and motivated to elevate engineering excellence across the organization.
