Job description

Vannin Chief of Staff has been retained by an online professional platform company, serving over 1 million customers annually.

Chief of Staff Role

Our client is seeking a Chief of Staff to act as a force multiplier to executive leadership, ensuring strategic initiatives are effectively executed, cross-functional alignment is achieved, and business objectives are met. This role is responsible for implementing the rhythm of the business, driving strategic priorities, and fostering organizational efficiency.

This will be a full-time, remote, exempt position.


Responsibilities

  • Implement Rhythm of the Business: Drive cross-functional business performance management processes to ensure alignment with company objectives. Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly sessions to review progress on Company metrics and OKRs / strategic priorities. Consistent focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness of high impact processes.
  • Coordinate Strategic and Financial Planning Process: Ensure long-range planning is completed timely, incorporated into annual planning and information is cascaded for execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration and Resource Alignment: Partner with business leaders to improve operational efficiency and optimize workflow processes. Propose changes to better align resources to achieve goals and strategic priorities.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Develop and monitor success metrics to measure performance against strategic initiatives. Ensure every major initiative or business unit aligns its priorities, resource plans and performance metrics to our operating framework. Implement tools to drive project management, tracking and visibility to the process.
  • Executive Support, Advisory and Communication: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to enhance decision-making. Amplify the message of our CEO by developing communications and presentations that clearly outline priorities, including Board materials and other key stakeholder messages.
  • Meeting Preparation: Ensure leadership meetings are well planned, efficient and focused on most critical topics, leading to informed plans and actions.
  • Problem Solving & Risk Mitigation: Identify and address potential business challenges proactively, ensuring smooth operations. Assume responsibility for key initiatives and operations that span multiple domains or fall between leadership responsibilities.
  • Lead and Oversee Strategic Initiatives: Serve as a thought partner across executive team; capable of taking leadership of specific strategic projects to deliver organizational goals.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive high-performing team dynamics.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 5-7 years of experience in management consulting, operations or corporate strategy
  • Proven experience in business strategy, performance management, or executive support roles
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools and performance tracking systems
  • Willingness to travel 3-6 days monthly on average, with understanding that some months may require more frequent travel, especially during initial onboarding

Compensation Range: DOE $180,000-$200,000 base annual salary + bonus

  2. Client Interview 1: Virtual interview with Chief Business Advancement Officer
  3. Client Interview 2: In-person deep dive interview (approximately 4 hours) in St. Louis / other preferred location
  4. Client Interview 3: Interview with CEO
  5. Client Interview 4: Panel interview with executive leadership team
