Description

The Director, Data Acquisition, is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of a remote and offshore team focused on successfully researching and collecting commercial construction project data that adds value to the information network used by our clients.

 

Timely and high-quality data delivery is the top priority for the Director, Data Acquisition. This is achieved by partnering closely with product, technology, and vendor teams to develop and execute a cohesive digitization strategy. Through that strategy -- along with the establishment and continuous refinement of KPIs that demonstrate success and measurable client outcomes -- the Director ensures Dodge delivers a more seamless, efficient experience for customers in the commercial construction industry.

 

This is a full-time position and reports directly to the SVP, Data Strategy and Operations.

 

Preferred Location

This is a remote, home-office based role and candidates located in the continental United States will be considered. 

 

Travel Requirements

Expected travel is up to 10% for this role.

 

Essential Functions

  • Build and lead a high-performance team through recruiting, training, and performance management
  • Continuously assess team and individual performance, identifying development opportunities and recognizing achievements
  • Ensure team efforts align with business goals by understanding the impact of content availability on sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee relationships with content vendors, including contract management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ensure vendors meet quality and delivery standards, and support scalability needs as business grows
  • Monitor and evaluate current content acquisition processes using data-driven insights
  • Recommend and implement process and technology improvements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and delivery speed
  • Collaborate with product teams to define tech requirements that enable automation and improved content delivery
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis up to Dodge’s ELT to support prioritization of quality enhancements
  • Identify new sources of content and methods of collection that support increase revenue or decrease in cost from current methods
  • Develop processes and SOPs for enhanced utilization of ML, AI, and other technologies to increase throughput and decrease cost
  • Partner with Sales and Product to align content strategy with customer needs and market opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to expand and improve data content through modern technologies, manual curation, and data enrichment
  • Support the creation of innovative algorithms and tools to improve data capture and field accuracy

 

Education Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and/or equivalent work experience

 

Required Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • 8+ years’ experience managing data operations or analytics teams
  • Proficient with MS Office suite 
  • Proven leadership experience including working with global teams and managing vendors
  • Proficiency in driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, particularly in working with technical and cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of content vendor management, including contract negotiation, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to address inquiries and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies and distributed database systems
  • Experience with machine learning implementations with data operations or analytics teams
  • Experience working with scraping technologies and structuring scraped data
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, remote environment
  • Positive, professional demeanor
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure

 

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with business intelligence tools a plus
  • Working knowledge of database systems, SQL proficiency a plus

Salary Disclosure

Dodge Construction Network’s compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, uncapped commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
