Position Tittle

Consultancy to support the implementation of digital campaigns and communication products on sexual violence and access to justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Position Overview

On January 19, 2023, Equality Now achieved a significant legal victory at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR) in the case of Brisa de Angulo v. Bolivia. This ruling is fundamental to improving access to justice for child and adolescent survivors of sexual violence, not only in Bolivia, but potentially throughout the Americas. The verdict represents a crucial step towards creating systemic and lasting reforms in how sexual violence is addressed and how justice is administered. By pushing for implementing the Brisa de Angulo v. Bolivia ruling, Equality Now seeks to promote meaningful change throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, improving justice for millions of women and girls.

To broaden the impact of this ruling and build on Equality Now's previous work in the region, including the evidence gathered in the report Failure to Protect: How Discriminatory Sexual Violence Laws and Practices Harm Women, Girls and Adolescents in the Americas, and in subsequent research, digital campaigns (mainly social media and e-mail) will be developed on the issue of access to justice for survivors of sexual violence.
