Job description

Structures, maintains, and governs the enterprise business architecture models, business process, business organizational structure, and business information, and understands how they support the organization’s strategic goals and objectives. Leads and facilitates resolution of complex enterprise problems or opportunities that assists with bridging any gaps between planning and execution of strategy to achieve enterprise strategic goals and objectives. Proactively identifies and mitigates or resolves risks, gaps, or issues that prevent the organization from achieving strategic goals and objectives.

Partner with leadership to provide an enterprise view of business functions, processes, capabilities, and enabling technologies, and to identify gaps and ensure integrity of these entities are not compromised when planning for execution of new strategic initiatives

Partner with leadership, program, and projects teams to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues

Define and maintain the set of strategic, core, and support processes that transcend functional and organizational boundaries; identify and describe external entities such as customers, suppliers, and external systems that interact with the business; and describe which people, resources, and controls are involved in the processes

Define the data shared across the enterprise and the relationships between that data

Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities, and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units


Develop and maintain business architecture which includes models that represent the organization in terms of structure, people, process, technology, information and data flow, application infrastructure, and interdependences

Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance

Determine how new business solutions should be designed and built in order to reside across multiple projects/initiatives to maximize efficiency and effectiveness ultimately resulting in business solution designs and plans

Facilitate business architecture governance and advice to ensure all aspects of the enterprise business solution development process and implementation meet the business architecture guidelines, minimize costs, can be built to quickly meet market demands, align with future business strategy, and provide optimal results for the business

Be the business expert, sought after for expertise and guidance for the most complex and advanced business initiatives to fulfill alignment between planning and execution of strategic goals and objectives, and to provide optimal business solutions

Understands and assesses business capabilities to identify new business capabilities required of the enterprise to meet the strategic goals and objectives. Business capabilities include but are not limited to business processes, functions, organizational structures, staff competencies, knowledge, training, tools, data, information, and information technology

Assess organizational readiness for identified business solutions, conducts, and develops plans that define how business change will be introduced, measured, and monitored within the organization.

Completes feasibility analysis of solution alternatives to determine whether and how each option can provide expected business benefit in order to achieve the strategic goals and objectives

Provides guidance to stakeholders and project teams throughout execution of defined business solutions and alters solutions based on new information or changes identified within the business environment or project teams

Liaison with Information Technology Systems Architects to understand and ensure business solutions align with the future technology strategy and assess system capabilities that must change to meet the business needs

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum 6 years of functional experience analyzing complex problems and providing solutions, plus data and statistical analysis

Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business

The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture

Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques

The ability to act as a liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; applies equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business process and workflow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefits realization and service delivery

Expertise in enterprise-wide business applications or technology and how they are integrated to fulfil essential business functions

Ability to apply advanced-level analysis of the big picture while maintaining an appropriate level of detail

Ability to work with the highest level of abstraction, complexity, and ambiguity within the organization

Experience working with large stakeholder groups at the most senior level of the organization (directors, VPs, C-level).

Ability to visualize future business outcomes and changes

Strong conflict management skills

Advanced experience with researching and data gathering methods

Proficient at facilitating meetings and negotiating across all levels of the organization

Ability to multitask and work in a team environment

Experience coaching and mentoring team to develop and achieve a common business goal or objective

Ability to communicate information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical individuals or groups at all levels of the organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience with government market operations is a plus

Experience with CMS compliance requirements is a plus

Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Salary Ranges: $84,000.00 - $141,750.00
