THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly experienced VP Data to lead the company’s data development efforts in building its core technology. As the VP Data, you will be at the forefront of our innovative efforts, reporting directly to the CTO. The role requires strong technical understanding and strategic thinking. This will include hiring and managing a team of data analysts, data engineers, data scientists .If you are a highly motivated, organized, independent, self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, Rounds is where you want to be!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks and best practices to ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability across all systems
  • Guide the implementation of data science and ML projects from ideation to production
  • Direct the evolution of BI visualization platforms (Tableau, Looker Studio)
  • Develop and articulate a clear data vision and strategy that aligns with Rounds’ overall business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, and continuous improvement within the data team.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to help them achieve their professional goals and deliver exceptional results.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, growth, finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful data deliveries and vision alignment.
  • Communicate data vision, strategy, and progress to key stakeholders, including the executive team, board members, and external partners.



Requirements

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Preferably in the mobile or data-intensive sectors.
  • Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) stack and BigQuery specifically.
  • Proven track record of successfully building and leading data teams.
  • Ability to translate big data into clear, actionable data insights.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to make informed product decisions.
  • Strong technical background with extensive experience in Python and SQL
  • Experience with Tableau/Looker Studio is a plus
  • Experience with LTV and production prediction models is an advantage
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with a can-do attitude, with the ability to work effectively across teams and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated person, fast learner and independent.
  • In-depth knowledge of the mobile ecosystem, including familiarity with mobile platforms, mobile advertising, and user acquisition strategies is a big plus.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

We are a distributed team of more than 140 people, all working remotely and communicating partially synchronously (we usually overlap with our teams for 3/4 hours daily and are free to work on some of the tasks whenever it suits us best).
